Support Northland Families in Crisis

For more than 50 years, we have been addressing community violence in the Northland. Last year, we served 19,440 families in crisis. We also witnessed our community's greatest needs:

  • a steep increase in anxiety and suicide in Northland youth
  • a 25% increase of women fleeing domestic violence and needing emergency shelter and affordable housing
  • an increased need of our Batterer's Intervention program in Jackson county

Due to financial constraints, we were forced to turn away 2,501 families who needed our help. We were crushed. But, with your help, more hope and safety is possible!

Meet Jenna

Jenna is a mom of 5 children, two of whom have diagnosed autism. After several years in an abusive marriage, Jenna fled but was unable to secure safe and stable housing, so she was forced to return to her abusive partner. Soon after, Children's Division removed Jenna's children from the home. Jenna fled again and entered our Domestic Violence Center Housing Program, where she thrived.

Jenna moved into a Synergy-sponsored apartment, regained her previous employment as a dental assistant, paid off several debts, and was reunite with all of her children. Jenna is active in therapy services and case management and is well on her way to healing from her past and becoming independent.

"I give to Synergy Services because they do more than any other organization I've seen. Every day their team is reaching out to homeless youth or providing safety to women and children who need it most. They are truly committed to ending violence in the Northland. I'm honored to play a role in their mission." Monica L., long-time donor
