Youth Resiliency Center Advocate

Youth Resiliency Center (YRC) Advocate (1 full time position) - Responsibilities include providing a continuum of services for runaway, homeless and street youth up to age 21 at the Youth Resiliency Center. Provides advocacy, crisis intervention, support and services to teens that are homeless, runaways, or experiencing abuse or neglect. Provides weekly financial literacy programming in the YRC per existing curriculum. Assists in the drop-in program activities at the Youth Resiliency Center. Teach communication, teamwork, coping skills, healthy competition and positive peer interaction to our clients. Engages youth and creates a positive environment for youth accessing the YRC utilizing Trauma Informed Care, Positive Youth Development, Strengths Based Care and Harm Reduction philosophies.

The days/hours for this position are:

Mondays-Fridays 11:00 am-7:00 pm.

Position requires Associates Degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience. BS in social services preferred. Prefer prior experience in a social services agency. Must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check, drug screen, fingerprinting and have a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance. Position requires CPR, Med Tech Certification and Chauffeur’s License within 30 days from the date of hire.
