Development Department

 

Volunteer Coordinator:  FT – This position manages, designs and implements the Volunteer Program for the agency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

Determines volunteer positions needed within Synergy Services Agency in collaboration with the Volunteer and Operations Manager and program staff.  In coordination with the Director of Development, manages the marketing and/or promotion of the volunteer positions through various methods.

Works in collaboration with the Director of Development to further develop volunteers into donors both in-kind and cash donations helping to create a pathway from the volunteer entry point to an invested donor.

Directs the recruitment, interviewing, selection and placement of volunteers within the various programs and departments of Synergy Services.

Schedules orientation and conducts the training of volunteers.  Develops and or updates training materials as needed.

In tandem with the Director of Development, regularly evaluates volunteers and overall volunteer program for effectiveness.  Makes changes in program design as needed to ensure the volunteer program is effective.

Develop and/or maintains volunteer files, updates volunteer SOP procedures, as needed.

Compiles statistical data related to volunteers.  Performs administrative tasks related to the volunteer program including but not limited to ensuring timely completion of paperwork and related reports and the accurate maintenance and updating of information into the volunteer database.

Monitors problems with volunteers and/or security issues involving volunteers and recommends appropriate solutions and documentation as required.

Serves as Synergy’s representative to the community in building relationships with local volunteer organizations and their representatives.

Directly supervises volunteers.  Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

Position requires an Associates Degree or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training or experience in a social services agency.  Prior experience with Marketing and Volunteer Coordination/Recruitment is a plus. All staff must be 21 years of age, pass a background check (Children’s Division/Central Registry/Child Abuse), drug screen, fingerprint screen, have a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance.
