Volunteer Coordinator - PT (15-20 hours per week) Hours worked will be primarily evenings and weekends.
In collaboration with the Volunteer and Operations Manager and program staff in Synergy's Youth Campus, Children's Center and Domestic Violence Center will determine volunteer positions needed. In collaboration with above program staff will direct the recruitment, interviewing, selection and placement of volunteers within various programs. Schedules volunteer orientation and conducts training of volunteers. Develops and/or updates training materials as needed.
In coordination with the Director of Development, develops volunteers into donors, both in kind and cash donations helping to create a pathway from volunteer entry point into invested donors. Compiles statistical data related to all agency volunteers. Ensures timely completion of paperwork and related reports and the accurate maintenance and updating of information of all volunteers into the volunteer database. In tandem with the Director of Development regularly evaluates volunteers and overall agency volunteer program for effectiveness and makes enhancements/changes as required.
Position requires minimum Associates degree or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or minimum one year related experience and/or training or experience in social services agency. Prior experience with Marketing and Volunteer Coordination/Recruitment a plus. Must be comfortable presenting information and responding to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the general public. Must be at least 21 years of age, pass a background check, drug screen, fingerprinting and have a valid driver’s license and proof of car insurance.
