Become an Activist

Synergy Services' Advocacy platform focuses on issues that affect the agency's mission to eliminate family violence, abuse and neglect, support the clients that we serve, and improve the communities in which we live. The Advocacy Committee has a plan that addresses:

  • Legislation
  • Public Policy
  • Funding
  • Community Development and Empowerment

Advocacy Platform

GENERAL PLATFORM FOR YEARS 2006-2008 

  1. Appropriations legislation-state and federal-for domestic/family violence issues and programs; youth issues and programs, including runaway and homeless youth, child abuse/neglect issues and programs
  2. Any civil/criminal measures or resolutions at state or federal level  that affect or impact victims of domestic/family violence, sexual violence, child abuse/neglect violence, runaway and homeless youth, and/or the law enforcement, prosecution and court responses to domestic/family violence, sexual violence, child abuse/neglect violence and runaway and homeless youth.
  3. Any funding stream issues.
  4. Any local ordinances, orders, resolutions impacting funding streams.
  5. Any other bills or resolutions or ordinances that affect the above issues.
