Counseling & Support Groups
Synergy’s therapists conducted over 1,400 family therapy sessions last year.
Individual, group and family therapies are critical to helping survivors and their children confront and move past the emotional trauma they have experienced. Synergy provides professional counseling services to victims of domestic violence in our shelter and throughout the community. Individualized counseling as well as support and therapeutic groups are available.
A weekly support group gives women the opportunity to connect with needed resources, referrals and other women who know first-hand what it’s like to be dominated and abused. Women who attend group meetings say that they find comfort and practical coping skills through their participation.
Therapeutic groups include art and play therapy for children, parenting support classes and survival skills.
