Through our Bridge S.P.A.N. program, we train healthcare personnel to provide universal screening for domestic violence, and coordinate patient care, resources and referrals for survivors of domestic violence. Program staff members assist hospitalized victims with reviewing support systems, completing safety planning, arranging for shelter and providing guidance with orders of protection. Strength-based ongoing case management services help each participant to set and reach short and long-term goals.
Synergy’s Bridge S.P.A.N. services are available at North Kansas City Hospital, St. Luke’s Northland (Barry Road and Smithville Campus), Liberty Hospital, The Kansas City Public Health Department, and Children’s Mercy Northland (Barry Road).
The success of our program is demonstrated through the continued request for services and increased identification of domestic violence victims by healthcare providers. New collaborations help Synergy continue to reach further out into the diverse Kansas City Metropolitan community
