An estimated 160,000 children miss school every day due to fear of attack or intimidation by other students
The physical injuries caused by violence may be the most visible of its consequences, but the emotional damage is often more insidious and harder to heal. Children traumatized by abuse, neglect, or observing violence need a way to understand and share their thoughts and emotions in order to fully heal.
Our therapists help children move beyond the limits of vocabulary to express themselves through art and play. Art and play therapy sessions provide a relaxed and interactive environment for children to deal with complex issues. Children participating in the sessions often say that it “feels better” than traditional forms of therapy they have experienced. Therapy sessions are conducted individually, in groups and as a family, as appropriate.
